Membership Information

At the local, state and national levels, BOMA represents your concerns. From local code and real estate issues, to national legislation on issues such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), indoor air quality (IAQ), and the phase-out of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), BOMA protects your interests. Through its professional lobbying efforts, BOMA International influences legislation and represents your interests before federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Justice Department.

San Antonio Building Owners and Managers Association Is Your Voice in the Office Building Industry and offers the following benefits:

  • INFORMATION - BOMA provides its members with a competitive edge through updates and reports on emerging trends and current issues as well as industry specific seminars. BOMA members are alerted to changes well in advance to help minimize their effect on the bottom line.
  • PRIME NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES - Access to the "movers and shakers" in the property management field is provided through monthly meetings and events, local and national membership directories, and newsletters.
  • PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION PROGRAMS - Offered through the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), courses of study lead to the nationally recognized designations of Real Property Administrator (RPA®), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®), and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®).
  • TIMELY EDUCATION - Local seminars and workshops offer name speakers on the issues and trends changing the industry. BOMA International's Annual Convention and The Office Building Show® highlight the best industry talent through in-depth education seminars and exhibits of emerging technologies and new services.
  • RESEARCH - Local projects include an annual salary survey of office building personnel, and an ad valorem tax report. Your link with BOMA International provides the source of valuable office building performance data and special studies on a variety of industry topics.   

Membership Types and Fees

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP applies to commercial property including office buildings, medical buildings, government buildings, industrial warehouses, retail centers and residential buildings greater than 9 floors. Membership is held by the Building, not by the individual or the management company. 

Every Building must have a principal representative. Adding additional representatives is optional and there is not a limit. The annual membership dues payment for a Building with one representative is $725 and for two representatives is $1250. Please inquire about dues for three or more building representatives.

ALLIED MEMBERSHIP applies to firms who are engaged in a trade, industry or profession allied to the commercial real estate industry (i.e., vendors/suppliers/professional firms). 

Membership is held by the Allied company, not the individual. Every Allied Member must have a Principal representative, who has voting rights, and can have up to three (3) additional representatives which do not have voting rights. Membership dues for an Allied Member with one representative is $825. Each additional representative added to an Allied Membership is $625.

Membership Dues Information

The membership dues reminders are sent via email in November of each year and must be paid by January 31st.  The member must click the Renew Membership link to get an invoice for their dues or they can choose to pay dues online at that time. Dues not received by January 31st will incur a late fee of $50 in February and $100 in March. Any membership not paid for by March 31st, is dropped. Once the membership is dropped, the member will have to start the application process over, including getting recommendation letters and being presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
