COMMITTEE CORNER

Log in as a member, then click Manage Profile and Edit Bio. Committee options are listed under the Member Information heading; click Edit to make your selections and Save Changes.

 

ALLIED MEMBER COUNCIL

The Allied Member Council provides a channel of support and communication among vendors (Allied Members) and real estate managers (Regular Members). The objective of this committee is to help all members to maximize the benefits of affiliation with BOMA. This committee will make recommendations to the Board of Directors on how to support the relationship-building process, as well as develop new events to help encourage ongoing collaborative connections.

 

BOMA OPEN COMMITTEE

Our annual Golf Tournament/Social is a major fund-raiser for our association. Committee meetings are held monthly from November-May with the event being held in May.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE

Our CSC evaluates and plans charity-focused events to give back to our local community. This will be achieved through the process of selecting a charity which functions in the parameters of our Charity Operations Policy. Plan is due to the board of directors by the February meeting. Committee meets monthly to assign duties for the projects that have been approved.

 

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Our education committee exists to fulfill the needs of the members by making quality and diverse educational opportunities available at an affordable price to as many members of the association as possible. Plans professional seminars, webinars, workshops and other programs and encourages member participation. Reviews scholarship applications for educational courses and conferences. Committee meetings are held monthly.

 

EMERGING PROFESSIONALS COMMITTEE

This committee exists to enhance the careers of young commercial real estate members. It facilitates awareness and provides participation opportunities for members in the early stages of industry experience. The goal is to connect, develop and empower young, career minded professionals.

 

LEGISLATIVE/GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

This committee ensures adequate and appropriate monitoring of lobbying and oversight on federal, state and local legislation issues that could affect the industry, the association and our members. Committee promotes industry awareness among elected/appointed officials and representatives at all levels. Committee meetings are held as needed.

 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The mission of our membership committee is to actively recruit new members, facilitate the membership application process with the potential member, review applications and make recommendations to the board of directors concerning new member applications. It is also tasked with determining if membership needs are being met and recommending measures or services that will better meet the changing needs of members. Committee meets monthly.

 

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

The program committee selects topics which are association-specific and beneficial to the members for our monthly luncheons. It includes securing the speaker, getting the bio information and announcing the speaker each month to the membership. This committee is also responsible for programming related to Manager of the Year and The Outstanding Building of the Year. Committee meets monthly.

 

SPORTING CLAY AND CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT

The sporting clay tournament is held in the late summer or early fall. The committee begins planning in May after the golf tournament has concluded. Sporting Clay begins in the morning, followed by lunch and a cornhole tournament. Committee meets monthly during planning cycle.
