Membership Information 


At the local, state and national levels, BOMA represents your concerns. From local code and real estate issues, to national legislation on issues such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), indoor air quality (IAQ), and the phase-out of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), BOMA protects your interests. Through its professional lobbying efforts, BOMA International influences legislation and represents your interests before federal agencies such as the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Justice Department. 


Membership Benefits

San Antonio Building Owners and Managers Association Is Your Voice in the Office Building Industry and offers the following benefits:

  • INFORMATION - BOMA provides its members with a competitive edge through updates and reports on emerging trends and current issues as well as industry specific seminars. BOMA members are alerted to changes well in advance to help minimize their effect on the bottom line.
  • PRIME NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES - Access to the "movers and shakers" in the property management field is provided through monthly meetings and events, local and national membership directories, and newsletters.
  • PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATION PROGRAMS - Offered through the Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI), courses of study lead to the nationally recognized designations of Real Property Administrator (RPA®), Facilities Management Administrator (FMA®), and Systems Maintenance Administrator (SMA®).
  • TIMELY EDUCATION - Local seminars and workshops offer qualified speakers on the issues and trends changing the industry. BOMA International's Annual Conference and The Office Building Show® highlight the best industry talent through in-depth education seminars and exhibits of emerging technologies and new services.
  • RESEARCH - Local projects include an annual salary survey of office building personnel, and an ad valorem tax report. Your link with BOMA International provides the source of valuable office building performance data and special studies on a variety of industry topics.   


Membership Types

REGULAR MEMBERSHIP applies to commercial property including office buildings, medical buildings, government buildings, industrial warehouses, retail centers and residential buildings greater than 9 floors. Every Building must have a Principal Representative and have as many additional representatives as desired for an additional dues payment. Regular Membership is held by the physical building or the property management company, not an individual. All representatives of Regular Members have voting rights.

ALLIED MEMBERSHIP applies to firms who are engaged in a trade, industry or profession allied to the commercial real estate industry (i.e., vendors, suppliers. professional firms). Allied Membership is held by the company, not an individual. Every company must have a Principal Representative and can have up to three (3) Additional Representatives. Only the Principal Representative of an Allied Member has voting rights.


Membership Dues Information

Dues invoices for annual renewal are sent via email in Q4 of each year and must be paid by January 31. Members may choose to pay dues online with a credit card. If a deactivated member desires to reaffiliate, they must reapply for membership, including completing an application form and getting recommendation letters to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval.
