AWARDS

The mission is to evaluate, interview and judge nominees for our local Property Manager of the Year award which is awarded in January. Committee meets in November/December/January to complete the evaluation of the nominees.

BOMA OPEN COMMITTEE

Golf Tournament is our major fund-raiser with 144 golfers. Committee meetings are held monthly from November-May with the event being held in May.

COMMUNITY SERVICE COMMITTEE

The mission is to evaluate and plan the charity events the association will hold to give back to our local community. This will be achieved through the process of selecting a charity which functions in the parameters of our Charity Operations Policy. Plan is due to the board of directors by the February meeting. Committee meets monthly to assign duties for the projects that have been approved

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The mission of education committee shall be to fulfill the needs of the members by making quality and diverse educational opportunities available at an affordable price to as many members of the association as possible. Committee works closely with BOMA office to acquire TREC approval of classes as required.  Plans professional seminars, webinars, workshops and other programs and encourages member participation. Reviews scholarship applications for educational courses and conferences. Committee meetings are held monthly.

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS COMMITTEE

The mission of emergency preparedness is to facilitate our relationship with the city entities regarding city emergencies, monitoring security alerts and assisting the association membership with emergency preparedness plans. Committee meets monthly or quarterly.

LEGISLATIVE/GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

The mission is to ensure adequate and appropriate monitoring of lobbying and oversight on federal, state and local legislation issues that could affect the industry, the association and our members. This committee is the liaison for our local association with Texas BOMA association. Committee promotes industry awareness among elected/appointed officials and representatives at all levels. Committee meetings are held monthly.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE

The mission is to actively recruit new members, facilitate the membership application process with the potential member, review applications and make recommendations to the board of directors concerning new member applications. To determine if membership needs are being met and to recommend measures or services that will better meet the changing needs of the members.The committee welcomes members and guests at all of the BOMA SA functions. Assists the BOMA office with the monthly luncheon setup, distribute the name badges and guide the new members and guests to their appropriate table Committee meets monthly.  

PROGRAM COMMITTEE

The mission of the program committee is to select topics association specific and beneficial to the members for all the monthly luncheons. It includes securing the speaker, getting the bio information and announcing the speaker each month to the membership. This committee is also responsible for working with all associations participating in the joint membership luncheon in April. This will be accomplished by recruiting speakers highly versed in the topics chosen. Committee will meet monthly in the first six months of the year or until all luncheon speakers have been confirmed.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE

Formerly, known as the Green committee, The mission of the Sustainability committee is to educate our members on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) sustainability, Energy Star and BEEP (BOMA Energy Efficiency Program) programs and the BOMA 7 point challenge; to explore opportunities for cooperative efforts and to promote awareness to the association members. Committee meets quarterly but there are a few exceptions.

THE OFFICE BUILDINGS OF THE YEAR (TOBY) COMMITTEE

The mission of this committee is to encourage building to enter, assist entrants, screen entries, select qualified participants and judge local entries to progress on to Regional and International judging. Committee produces the TOBY presentation at the March luncheon and corresponds with Southwest Region TOBY committee in judging the Regional entries. Committee meets monthly from July - February.
