Mission Statement  

The Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) is the only organization serving the unique needs of office building industry professionals. The mission of BOMA is to actively and responsibly represent and promote the interests of the commercial real estate industry through effective leadership and advocacy through the collection, analysis and dissemination of information, and through professional development. Over the years, the association's continuing commitment to provide the best professional education available on management issues has increased the efficiency and profitability of building operations. 

BOMA members prove true the saying, "there is strength in numbers." Working together, they form a respected resource for information, communication, government representation, education and training.

History

SAN ANTONIO

The San Antonio Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA SA) was founded in 1923 to serve both the commercial real estate industry and the community. BOMA SA members own and/or manage over 64 million square feet of commercial space in the San Antonio metropolitan area. BOMA/SA actively participates in lobbying efforts at the local, state and national level on the real estate legislation. 

BOMA SA is federated with BOMA Texas and BOMA International, the voices of the commercial real estate industry in Texas and Washington, D.C.

TEXAS

BOMA Texas was founded in 1937 when the concept of a statewide association promoting the interests of the commercial building industry was born. BOMA Texas represents over 650 building owners and managers that represents over 100 million square feet of commercial office space across the state. Through its legal counsel, BOMA Texas monitors all legislative bills and committee activity regarding commercial property ownership and management.

INTERNATIONAL 

BOMA International was founded in 1907 and today represents 92 local associations throughout the United States and twelve international affiliates in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Mexico, the Philippines, Russia and South Africa. BOMA's 16,500-plus members own or manage more than nine billion square feet of commercial properties in North America.

BOMA International is a primary source of information on office building development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics and technological developments.

BOMA International's goal has always focused on actively and responsibly representing and promoting the interests of the commercial real estate industry through effective leadership and advocacy, through the collection, analysis and dissemination of information and through professional development.
